BT: The Saga Continues…
This is getting longer than the Star Wars Saga now*… Following on from my initial moan about BT and my second blog post about it I thought I’d give an update seeing as they have annoyed me yet again. And I still have no Internetz. On Saturday morning (5 days after BT should have installed my broadband) I submitted a support request to @BTCare who had already said that if […]
BT: Bloody Terrible
Follow on from this post So 8pm came and went, I called them and spent 40 minutes on the phone to India but couldn’t actually get anywhere because the orders and billing departments were both closed. So they have requested a call-back for me between 10-11am tomorrow… I wonder if THAT one will materialise? As you can guess, I’m pretty mad – even more annoyed at the number of broken […]
Scam Call 6: Keyboard Shenanigans (4th July 2012)
This was a great one – I got the caller so wound up he actually told me to f-off! Sadly my mobile got a call so the last minute or so wasn’t recorded. I paraphrased the missing audio though at the end of the video. Other highlights were going through every letter on the keyboard until I found the ‘flag’ key he wanted me to press.
Scam Call 5: Microsoft? Windows? Creative Solutions Online?
This was an early morning call and it caught me off guard. However I mumbled something about ‘having to do something’ (i.e. set the phone recording) and asked them to start again saying who they were. Throughout the call they couldn’t make up their mind what company they were calling from. The highlight though was being asked if I had a false leg! For info they called from: 004588632589 and […]
Microsoft Scammer Confused by Dreamweaver on a Mac
The scam calls are coming in thick and fast at the moment! This time I thought I’d start from the outset as being a Mac user – we don’t have the same icons as Windows users so this throws the caller to the point where he had to get his supervisor! Enjoy!
Most Useless Computer Scammer?
It’s been a few months since I had a computer scam call but today’s experience was something new. The caller was completely useless and it was clear they weren’t paying any attention to what I was saying and to what they were supposed to be doing… Maybe I should give them some credit though, it might have been their first day at work and I was being unduly hard on […]
Another Phone Scam – This One Was Fun!
It’s been a while since I recorded a phone scammer but I had another one today. I missed the first 30 seconds or so as I was fumbling with my iPhone to find the SoundCloud app which it appears I’ve managed to delete. Or Mini-MaFt has deleted… So I quickly launched up the Voice Memo app and hit record. The results of my entertaining call from 009806553210 are below. It’s […]
iCloud Notes in Mozilla Thunderbird (The Story)
I’ve used ‘Notes’ quite a lot on my iPhone since I got my first one (an 8GB 3G) in 2008; usually for little reminders, shopping lists, a note of what Christmas presents I’ve already bought etc. When I was bought an iPad in 2010 you could sync notes between the iPhone and iPad using Apple’s ‘me.com’ service. I then started using ‘Notes’ for a few more things – common phrases […]
