MaFt, Well done with your public awareness to phone scammers.

Now if you could just email me your credit card details, bank details, full name & address & DNA profile.

I am waiting for a share of a rich Iraqi business mans fortune which I will happily share with you!

Thanks German Pulido, that headers tip works a treat :) Much easier than having to copy and paste the header each time!

I added the apple header by using these two options: mail.identity.id5.headers and mail.identity.idN.header.appleheader like this:

1. Open the advanced preferences in thunderbird and then the config editor
2. In the preferences list, at the top, enter mail.identity.id*.useremail and then in the value column, look for your me.com account. Then, look the id number in its property name, take note of your id number.
3. Create a new string with name mail.identity.id.headers and value appleheader
4. Create a new string with name mail.identity.id.header.appleheader and value X-Uniform-Type-Identifier: com.apple.mail-note
5. Exit and restart thunderbird

After doing this, I just created a new email using the .me.com account and saved it. It appeader fine on my iphone. I hope it works fine for everybody.

Thanks for the tutorial and best regards!!

P.S: More info about the variables I described: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Custom_headers

Thanks, works! Ever so slightly impractical (one needs to have "com.apple.mail-note" somewhere close by to copy-paste) but extremely practical in a pinch. Two remarks:

I do use my me.com account for emailing. Not so bad, just save the Draft, then go into the Drafts folder and "Move to..." or "Copy to..." the Notes folder. Adds a layer but again in a pinch worth the work.

Second remark is that I had to restart Thunderbird for the 'X-Uniform-Type-Identifier' option to show up when editing the email, i.e. between step 3 and 4.

Thanks for writing that up!

I already heard about this one from a friend in Canada. As a business we get a lot of calls as we have multiple numbers.

The first time I asked them to explain what the "Internet Routing Department" was, but they hung up on me. The next time I asked them which country the "Internet Routing Department" was based in and the said "California" then hung up.

The third time I just played along. She got as far as asking me to press Windows Key +R and tell her what came up on the screen. As I was driving I bluffed and said a lot of file names. She said I was wasting her time, and I told her she was
A F**KING SCAMMER.
