Open the advanced preferences in thunderbird and then the config editor 2. Then, look the id number in its property name, take note of your id number. 3. Create a new string with name mail.identity.id.headers and value appleheader 4. Ever so slightly impractical (one needs to have "com.apple.mail-note" somewhere close by to copy-paste) but extremely practical in a pinch. Two remarks: I do use my me.com account for emailing. Not so bad, just save the Draft, then go into the Drafts folder and "Move to..." or "Copy to..." the Notes folder. Adds a layer but again in a pinch worth the work. As a business we get a lot of calls as we have multiple numbers. The first time I asked them to explain what the "Internet Routing Department" was, but they hung up on me. The next time I asked them which country the "Internet Routing Department" was based in and the said "California" then hung up. The third time I just played along. She got as far as asking me to press Windows Key +R and tell her what came up on the screen. As I was driving I bluffed and said a lot of file names.
